Climate Chambers
Climate chambers regulate temperature, humidity, air composition (CO2 or O2), and light intensity to test how products like electronics, building materials, and textiles hold up under high heat or rapid environmental shifts. Also known as environmental chambers, they're widely used across industrial applications such as automotive, aerospace, medical, and pharmaceutical testing. Laboratory Climate Chambers
What is a climate chamber?
A climate chamber (sometimes called an environmental chamber) is a device that simulates specific climate conditions to study how materials, products, or biological specimens respond.
What does a climate chamber do?
It recreates environmental factors such as extreme heat, humidity, or altitude, so engineers and researchers can assess product safety, durability, and compliance before real-world use.
As a pioneer in temperature control and environmental simulation, Memmert provides advanced solutions for scientific research, industrial applications, and academic work. From stability testing to accelerated aging, battery testing, and tensile testing, our climate chambers maintain optimal conditions for cultivating, storing, and testing your most valuable samples.
Testing against environmental factors matters because temperature, humidity, and other conditions can significantly affect the performance and functionality of different materials and products. This kind of testing also helps identify potential failure modes and improve overall product safety. The specific environmental factors a climate chamber simulates depend on the chamber's configuration.

How a Memmert Climate Chamber Works
Memmert climate chambers use convection and radiation to accurately heat and cool their contents. For heating, the chamber warms the load at atmospheric pressure to a defined temperature setpoint. For cooling, heat is removed from the load and discharged externally through the cooling system.
Different Memmert climate chambers use customized cooling systems based on factors like energy efficiency, noise level, temperature range, and humidity control needs. Peltier modules allow precise cooling near ambient temperature, while compressors provide strong wide-range temperature regulation.
Digital Climate Chambers with Programmable Climate Control
Using our new AtmoCONTROL interface, users are allowed to drag and drop graphical symbols for the desired parameters to the input fields and change the values using a digital screen. Each climate chamber has a digital backward counter with a target time setting that is adjustable between 1 minute and 99 days 23 hours. Working alongside the Setpoint-Wait function, the process you program will not start until the set temperature is reached at all measuring points.

Constant Climate Chambers vs. Climate Chambers
In addition to general climate chambers, Memmert also offers constant climate chambers.
- Standard Climate Chambers can simulate changing conditions, such as cycles of heat, humidity, or light, to stress-test products under variable environmental stress.
- Constant Climate Chambers are designed to maintain stable, unchanging environmental conditions over long durations. They are ideal for ICH-compliant stability testing, pharmaceutical storage, and controlled long-term experiments where even slight fluctuations in temperature or humidity can compromise results.
