Cold storage helps prevent the growth of bacteria, the spoilage of food and keep items at a constant cold temperature. Refrigerated storage is commonly used in industries such as:

Refrigerated Incubators

Peltier-cooled incubators and compressor-cooled incubators are used in biological and medical research. Both maintain a stable temperature and create a suitable environment for cell cultures. However, both cooled incubators have 3 key differences:

  1. Cooling Technology: Peltier-cooled incubators use a thermoelectric cooling technology, while compressor-cooled incubators use a compressor, condenser and evaporator to cool the chamber.
  2. Temperature Range: Compressor-cooled incubators have a wider temperature range than Peltier-cooled incubators. 
  3. Application: Peltier-cooled incubators are more commonly used for bacteria and microalgae. Compressor-cooled incubators are more commonly used for mammalian cell culture and protein expression.
