Incubating
Memmert laboratory incubators create stable, contaminant-free environments for critical applications in research and production. Built for reliability, each incubator model regulates temperature, humidity and CO₂ to support sensitive biological work.
Common incubator uses include:
- Cell and tissue culture
- Pharmaceutical development
- Biochemical and hematological studies
- In vitro fertilization (IVF)
- Microbial growth and storage
Available in sizes from compact benchtop models to large 75 ft³ units, Memmert incubators meet the needs of any laboratory setup.
With features like programmable alarms, touch-screen controls, integrated data storage and removable shelving, our incubators simplify monitoring and improve long-term stability.

Types of Laboratory Incubators
Incubator types differ based on airflow, cooling method and application scope. Learn more about the roles of CO₂, compressor-cooled, forced circulation, natural convection and Peltier-cooled incubators below.
Incubator Type | Cooling Method | Airflow | Typical Incubator Use Cases | Energy Use |
CO₂ Incubator | Heated + CO₂ regulation | Passive or forced | Cell culture, IVF, tissue engineering | Moderate |
Compressor-Cooled Incubator | Compressor, condenser, evaporator | Variable | Thermophilic organisms, temperature cycling | High |
Forced Circulation Incubator | Heated | Fan-driven | Biotech and pharma testing requiring uniform heat | Moderate |
Natural Convection Incubator | Heated | Passive | General storage, bacterial culture | Low |
Peltier-Cooled Incubator | Thermoelectric (Peltier effect) | Passive | Precision biology, sensitive samples, compact labs | Low |
Each model supports specific research needs, from high-precision biological work to general-purpose storage. Memmert incubators are designed to provide stable environmental control across all use cases, with features tailored to both performance and efficiency.
