Dehydrator Drying Oven Applications
Dehydrators are a great tool to have in your kitchen for food preservation. Some of the most commonly dehydrated foods include:
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Fish, Meat & Jerky
- Nuts, Seeds & Grains
- Incubating Yogurt
- Crackers, Granola & Baked Goods
- Pet Food & Treats
- Flowers, Herbs & Plants
Can you dehydrate food in a conventional oven?
While ovens can be used as dehydrators in a pinch, they're not ideal, since most don't give you temperature options under 200 degrees. The optimal range for food dehydration is typically between 120 and 140 degrees. Remember to continuously rotate pans and flip foods to ensure that they dehydrate evenly. Using dehydrator drying ovens is an energy-efficient way to preserve the flavor, color and some of the nutritional value of food products. Dried foods are convenient and easy to store, and they rehydrate quickly for cooking and baking.
